What you should know

The philosophy

The two hosts work as a duo, but can rely on an impressive list of local producers. It also appears on the menu, reading like a who's who of culinary craftsmanship in Hamburg and its surroundings. This is what Hamburg tastes like.

The kitchen

On our last visit, we were won over by the country terrine with pickled watermelon rind and a ceviche-style salad of watermelon and cucumber with dill and flowers. Aged and torched wels catfish in a spiced broth with cinnamon oil (fabulous!), as well as the duo of Odefey guinea fowl with aubergine and blackberries. Vegetarian menus are always on offer, too.

At a glance

You sit as if among friends at well-worn wooden tables, glancing now and then into the brightly tiled kitchen, and enjoy warm, generous hospitality. All the while, great music plays – from New Orleans funk to Blue Note jazz to French chansons. Casual fine dining at its best!
